Who am I?
Brett Hanavan is a writer, photographer, and filmmaker.
He is former owner/editor of San Diego Sports Voices and most recently contributes to the San Diego Community Newspaper Group as a freelance journalist. In his time with the newspaper he has written stories covering the San Diego Chargers, Padres and Sockers and continues to focus on coverage of business, education, medical research and occasionally produces features and provides sports coverage to the organizations several publications.
He was co-producer/co-director of independent films Death of a Healer, released June 2005 and
Clean Up, Aisle 3 released in 2004. He co-wrote Clean Up Aisle 3 with business partner Tom Bennett and has also produced a children’s television pilot (On the Shanna Show) with business partner Shanna Stanton. Hanavan also continues to work on screenwriting and film and video projects. He is also a poet and freelance photographer.
Hanavan has contributed to several publications including Insurance Journal, Rough Notes Magazine, various web sites and newspapers.
Hanavan and Bennett continue to operate ForeSolutions, a St. Louis-based communication and production company. Clean Up Aisle 3, produced under their former company 80,0002B, appeared in the 2003 Wilmington International Film Festival.
He works from his home office/studio in the suburbs of Southern California.
Hanavan also has more than 12 years of insurance industry experience in California.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from the University of Tulsa and a minor in Marketing. He is married to Sherrianne; a commercial liability claims manager; They have a nine-year-old daughter.
